Question
What is a “Break”?
Answer
A box break is an event in which a box(es), case(s), and/or pack(s) of cards are divided up among collectors who purchase the right to receive them as part of a random drawing. The events are promoted as providing an opportunity for baseball card and sports memorabilia fanatics to obtain valuable cards at an affordable price. Here’s a great explanation provided by Cardboard Connection
Question
What is a “Rip & Ship”?
Answer
A Rip & Ship is an event where a collector buys unopened cards, watches the seller “rip” (open) them, and then the seller mails the cards to the collector. Rip & ships are attractive to collectors for many reason. First, rather than leaving their home, the collector has the ability to choose among many types of cards and have them opened immediately. No searching local Target or Walmart stores to find cards. No waiting for unopened cards to arrive in the mail. The buyer gets the satisfaction of seeing their cards ripped and then the enjoyment of seeing them again when they arrive in the mail. There’s also often a great community around rip & ships where other collectors can comment on your rips as they occur.
Question
How does randomization work?
Answer
Many breaks (not all) use randomization to determine which slots go to which collectors. This gives every collector the same odds of getting the better slots. Breaker Toolbox performs this randomization automatically once a break has been filled. See our Randomization Policy here.
Question
Will I receive all cards or just the “hits”?
Answer
Any rip & ships or breaks will ship all cards unless the event is noted as “Hits only”. On the home screen, this can be seen at the bottom left corner of the event logo. When in a event, click on “Seller Details” to determine if you will receive all cards or just your hits.

Question

Breaks which require randomization will automatically randomize immediately once the last available slot has been sold. The randomized results can be viewed by clicking on the event and then expanding the Randomized Results section once inside the event detail.
Question
How long after the event ends until I can see the video?
Answer
Playback videos take time to process so they are not immediately available. Depending on several factors, including the length of the event, the time it takes for the video to appear may vary.
Question
How do I add a favorite?
Answer
You can favorite an event or a seller. To favorite an event, click on the event and then click the bookmark icon in the upper left corner. To bookmark a seller, click on the seller’s name and then click the heart icon.
If you favorite an event, only that event will show up in your My Favorites view. However, if you favorite a seller, all of that seller’s events will appear in your My Favorites view.
Question
Can I bookmark specific points of a live event to watch later?
Answer
Bookmarks allow you to navigate directly to a particular spot in the live event when watching the video afterwards. Anytime you see something during a live event that you may want to watch again, simply click on the bookmark icon. Later, you can navigate directly to that spot in the playback video.
