Where you decide to run your breaks is a huge decision, and it’s going to shape a lot about how fast you grow and how much money you actually make.
If you hop onto big platforms like Whatnot, Fanatics Live, or Drip, you’re getting access to a built-in audience, which is awesome when you’re new and trying to get your name out there. You can go live, run auctions, fill breaks quickly…it all sounds great, right? Well, here’s the catch: they’re gonna take a big bite out of your profits. Expect to lose somewhere between 8–15% of every sale to platform fees. It adds up fast, especially when your margins are already tight.
On the flip side, if you want to be a part of something new and exciting that’s ready to change the breaking world, a service like Breaker Toolbox, which allows you to stream anywhere, meaning you can continue to build your existing social media following while you’re just paying a flat monthly fee. No percentage cut. That means you keep way more of your money. Another positive of using a newer platform is that your feedback can help steer the direction of the platform.
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer here.
Whatever you pick, just be consistent. Jumping around all the time between different apps and websites can confuse your buyers and make it harder to build momentum. Stick with one or two places, build your following there, and once you have a solid crew, you can start expanding.
Bottom line: decide whether you want faster exposure with higher fees, or more profit with a slower grind, and plan accordingly.
