Overview
A Rip & Ship is an event where a collector buys unopened cards, watches the seller “rip” (open) them, and then the seller mails the cards to the collector. Rip & ships are attractive to collectors for many reason. First, rather than leaving their home, the collector has the ability to choose among many types of cards and have them opened immediately. No searching local Target or Walmart stores to find cards. No waiting for unopened cards to arrive in the mail. The buyer gets the satisfaction of seeing their cards ripped and then the enjoyment of seeing them again when they arrive in the mail. There’s also often a great community around rip & ships where collectors can comment on rips as they occur.

When you first enter a live Rip & Ship you’ll notice the live video, as well as the chat.
Note that your screen may look slightly different depending on what device you use to view DJAWN.

Comments are saved so you can go back and watch the video and read the comments afterwards as well.
You can also continue to chat with other members for up to 5 minutes after an event ends.
Note – inappropriate chats are not allowed. See our policies for more information.

Menus
There’s plenty you can do besides watch the video and chat. To access other functionality you need to open up the menu.
When you first enter a live Rip & Ship you’ll find a hint to help you open up the menu. Clicking Dismiss will hide the tip for this session but it will show up again the next time you enter a live event. If you never want to see this tip again then just click Don’t show again.

Views
Available Product(s)
By default, the menu will open to the Available Product(s) view. This is where you’ll see all of the items which are available to be purchased during this event.
You’ll notice there are some tips to help you navigate the views. As always, clicking Dismiss will hide the tip for this session but it will show up again the next time you enter a live event. If you never want to see this tip again then just click Don’t show again.
To navigate to a different view, simply click on the Change view dropdown at the top.
To view a product, click on the product name.
You can search for specific products using the Search box.
Some sellers may have many items for sale, so be sure to view all of the pages.

The Line History view allows you to view who has already purchased products for this event.
Attendees
The Attendees view shows you everyone currently watching the live event.

Seller Information
The Seller Information view allows you to learn more about the seller. There’s useful information here such as:
- Shipping costs
- When your cards ship
- Whether all cards ship

Getting In Line
To participate in the Rip & Ship you’ll need to get in line. You can do this one of multiple ways:
Click the hamburger menu below the views. Then click Get In Line.

Go to the Active Line view and then click Enter Rip n Ship Queue.

The final way to get in line is to purchase something. See below for how to do this.
Purchasing items
To purchase something, follow these steps:
Navigate to the Available Products view.
Search for the product you wish to purchase.
Click on the product Name.

Select how many of the product you wish to purchase and the click Add to Cart.

You can now either add more products to your cart or complete your purchase.
There are several important things to remember here.
First, you only have 5 minutes after adding a product to your cart before it is removed from your cart and released back into the seller’s inventory. This is to prevent items from remaining locked and preventing others from purchasing them.
Also, remember that fees are calculated each time you check out. For this reason, it may make sense for you to pay for all of your items at once rather than one by one.
